The winning solution was of an engraving machine using laser diode to engrave into artificial leather and other materials with a suitable ventilation system and enclosure for safety purposes. The machine is 40 by 30 cm working active area. The solution cost ranges from 15k til 20k using available materials in the Egyptian market.
The solution is currently being built to be implemented with the reward provided by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology in collaboration with Al Tadamun Microfinance Foundation.

Eng/ Assem Gamal Abdel-Hamid, graduated from the Mechatronics engineering faculty in the German University in Cairo and current owner of El-Garage makerspace aiming to combine engineering with arts and crafts.
