Senior Operations Consultant

 

I.  Purpose of the Position

Yomken is an open-innovation platform owned by Istebdaa’, Inc. – A Cairo-based social startup. We bring up innovative products by bridging the gap between (i) the technical challenges faced by micro-and small entrepreneurs (MSE) working mainly in light manufacturing industries and (ii) the innovative solutions and ideas of potential problem solvers (e.g. students, scientists, entrepreneurs…). Yomken has successfully accomplished its pilot and proof of concept phases and is currently seeking an Operation consultant to help improve and develop operational plans and strategies to pursue Yomken’s vision of becoming a tool to promote, fund, and apply innovation in Egypt and the Arab world.





II. Scope of Work

We are looking for an operation consultant with EU project-oriented experience to help our business achieve its objectives. He/She will be developing an operational improvement strategy in collaboration with our senior managers, defining employee roles and presenting progress updates to our executives. The consultant will need to demonstrate experience and expertise in innovation management and crowdsolving in Egypt. The experience in EU-funded projects is an asset, including ensuring compliance with the relevant EU regulations, being familiar with eco-social projects strategies and multitasking.

You will be mainly responsible for…

  • Determining the scope of operational improvement initiatives via consultation and evaluation also makes decisions and recommendations when the division is faced with operational difficulties.

  • Developing operational improvement strategies.

  • Recommending cost-effective solutions to operational challenges.

  • Facilitating training initiatives and promoting best practices.

  • Overseeing the implementation of operational improvement strategies.

  • Performing cost calculations and coordinating budgets.

  • Collaborating across departments to set realistic operational targets and timeframes.

  • Documenting processes, monitoring progress, and preparing status reports.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor's degree in management science, economics, business administration, or in a related field.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience preferably in management positions.

  • Extensive knowledge of strategies management and planning.

  • Superb leadership and communication skills.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Fluent Arabic and English written and spoken skills.

  • Good knowledge of the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Egypt.
